I currently have a Harmon Kardon AVR-240 receiver, been happy with it but as of late I've really wanted to get some outdoor patio speakers so I think ive decided to sell the receiver and pick up a new receiver with multi-room (or at least A-B speaker support)

I figure while i'm at it I might as well get one that can handle HDMI switching as well (mine only has component)

Any recs on a good multi-room receiver $200-$400? I'm open to all brands.

denon is a good brand. Their 1610/1910 receivers offer some of the best values at that price level. They both have Audyssy MultiEQ which will set up your speakers for you based on room placement and stuff.

Yep, I just set up my Denon 1610. It was $287 shipped at Electronics Expo as long as my Bing CB comes through. The main difference between the 1610 and 1910 is 5.1 vs. 7.1 and the ability to use the extra two channels for a different zone. It sounds like the 1910 will work really well for you.
