well.. i think its about time to go ahead and upgrade my cooling and maybe my power supply.
Ive got a northwood 1.6 overclocked to 2.4 (had to do the loop trick and raise my vcore settings)
vcore hangs out around 1.77 (which is why I think i might have to replace the psu as well)
Ive had the setup for quite awhile.. and its always run just a little hot, but never enough to worry about
lately, the temp under extreme load gets way too high for comfort
Ive been using a cheaper thermaltake volcano (9 i believe).. and a decent (but generic) 450w psu.
the voltage settings stay pretty much where they are suppose to be.. with the exception of the vcore being higher than I would like.
the motherboard temp stays fine.. its just the cpu temp that I dont like.
I think I should start by replacing my heatsink and fan.. and need some recommendations.
price IS an object.. I dont want to go overboard, and I will most likely stick with air cooling for now.
if I get the heatsink and fan at a reasonable price.. I might also look into another psu. So i could use some recommendations there as well.
I definitly need to look for something in the 400-450w range.. I have 4 harddrives, a cdrw, dvdrw, dvdrom, vid & sound, tv tuner, ide raid, usb 2.0 card, etc..
