I'm getting a new Toshiba Protegé R500 (C2D mobile 1,2 ghz 2mb, 1 gb memory, GMA950) and I'm wondering whether, considering it's specs, there's any reason for keeping my old rig for gamin-purposes.
So far the rig, a northwood a 2,0 ghz with 512 mb pc2700 memory and a GF4 Ti4200, has been at my parents place and used for mild gaming purposes when I was there, but as I suspect the new laptop, even with the GMA 950, will be more powerful I'm wondering if there's any reason for that anymore.
As far as I can see it comes down to whether the old desktops advantage in the ti4200 vs. GMA 950 outweighs the fact that it's outspecced in every other aspect.
Any takes on that?
