Time to get thinking: Notice something about today's date? Think laterally.

There is something about todays date that doesn't happen too often. Can you figure out what it is? Throw some ideas in here and I might give a clue or two.

8-10-01

08-10-01

10-08-01

Am I missing something?

Maybe the 10-01 part?

I have no clue what it could be, but I got one for you TripleJ (although I'm sure most people already know this).

Something very unusual happened on May the 6th, 1978 at 12:34... what was it???

My silly guess would be 8-10-01 sounds like "aten one" (though not such good English lol).

Hmm..

When the date is written 10-8-01, it's symmetric, i.e. a palindrome, reads the same front and back, though it's not all that uncommon. Depending on what format of writing the date you use, it comes up 9 times this year if you use dd/mm/yy, and comes up 9 times if you use mm/dd/yy in October.

Though that may not be it. Or you can also say the date is symmetric on a line drawn horizontally through the middle of it.
