time sync problem.

Ok, I have one server DC1 (win2K, domain controller, the only one) its time is perfect. I have another win2K server running as a member server with citrix metaframe XP. The Citrix box's time is off by 2 hours and every time a client connects to the citrix server to access a published application set or a full desktop the clients time gets automatically changed to reflect the citrix servers tiem (which is off by 2 hours) I keep trying to fix the citrix servers time, but for some reason it keeps going back to 2 hours ahead. Any ideas?

Hmmm. Is the TZ set correctly on the PDC? What processes are running on the citrix box? Is the Windows Time service running on the citrix box? If the time is constantly getting set 2 hours ahead, then I would think that there is some process somewhere that is accessing some server somewhere and getting some time, but not the time you think it's getting.

You do know that you can set the time using the NET TIME .... /SET command to sync network servers?

Just had another thought... 2 hours could be accounted for if you are doing the wrong thing with daylight savings. Not sure how that would work out, but if your region is into daylight savings, and it's somehow taking off daylight, couldn't that add up to a 2 hour diff?? Or am I just grasping????

you nailed it with the net time function. I knew the command but was not even thinking about it (I had already issued that when I brought the server up) but I had another domain controller that I demoted a few weeks ago and that was the nts, so when I demoted that somehow the time got changed I guess.. I set the nts to valley_dc1 and things are working great now. Now on to my next problem which I will be posting soon (a lot more complicated then this one though)
