time management -- how?

Are u a student? If so, high school or college (what major ).. and what activities do u engage in.

Yeah, those are important, also, tell us your work load from classes/activities.

Got a cellphone ? Yahoo Calendar can alert you at specific times using an email address. Recurring events too... I love Yahoo Calendar.
 
workload -- huge.

activites beyond trying to memorize stuff -- not much (time taken over by studying).

everything is compounded by the fact my quantum course requires me to know matlab, and i have no experience with it. will probably buy a book on it this weekend.

also attempting to find a way to memorize kanji more efficiently -- I posted a topic on this before. flash cards don't have 'em stick.

I use an organizer book and voice memo on my cell phone. I have a notepad file that pops up when I login to my home computer, and the same thing is emailed to me by yahoo calendar. Since I see it 3-4 times, I tend to remember my schedule.
 
hire a midget with a day-planner and a 9 iron.
everytime you need to do something, and forget or don't do it in a timely manner, the midget will
smack you in the nads with a 9 iron.
after a few days you will remeber to do everything that you need to do to keep your angry little
golfer from going for birdie with your balls.

m100, dirt cheap on ebay and tough (even if it ain't that pretty)

you don't need a color screen and 400Mhz to keep track of times and events

i started with a hand me down m100... now i'm up to a CLIE SL-10 (40 bucks on ebay)
 
Technology isn't going to solve your problem. A PDA or similar item is useful to remind you when something is to be done, but that isn't going to make you do it. If you overschedule yourself, you'll never be able to do everything and you'll quickly ignore the constant reminders because they'll only remind you that you are falling behind.

I work with many people who have PDAs, cell phones and reminders in Outlook and they flounder with time management because they haven't realized that the reminders don't get the work done. They still have to do the work. They aren't disciplined enough to stick to their schedule. Most of them should have a hotkey that activates the Outlook "Remind me in 10 minutes" button because they sit there and click it all day long.

First, establish a schedule that you can accomplish. And look ahead - what's the point of being reminded that an assignment is due today, when you need three days to complete it?

If you find that you can't work on something for hours on end, then break up your schedule into smaller time chunks.

Now, if your question about "time management" was really about "best way to track reminders", then by all means use technology because that will work great.
