Time magazine has got it all wrong!! Your take ?

It makes me mighty mad that Time magazine has mixed up some words and English language terminology. I have been taught that "Star of the Day", "Employee of the month" and "Student of the week" were all positive things.

Why then, does Time Magazine do injustice to the English language and the American people by considering "Bin Laden" as "Person of the year" and more recently, Kenneth Lay, former chairman/CEO of Enron as "Mr. Person of the week".
What a joke!! Check it out here!!

OK, lets have some fun, what would be other suitable titles for this kind of stuff ? I can think of
"Criminal of the week" !!!

We had a chat on this a while back. Remember hitler also got that, though it was before he was as renown.

Although "person of the year" definitely gives off impression of greatness, technically speaking in this context it is akin to "significant person of the year", and I think both people have been significant!

Person of the year refers to the person who most influenced the world that year, whether it was for good or bad. I consider Bin Laden to have influenced the world the most so I think he deserves this title. Hitler and Stalin have also been named Person of the Year. I know it sounds like it should be an award, but that all depends on the accomplishment.
