Time for video editing...how many GB am I gonna need?

So now I have about 3-3 1/2 hours of MiniDV video that I need to import to the computer for editing - roughly how much space is this going to take up? I was thinking something like 150gb, but honestly I'm not sure. Any ideas?

Not 150GB, but Id say ~47GB for the initial video itself, then added space for the actual editing.

It all depends on what format it will be encoded in.

A 2 hour MPEG2 is aproximately 4.3 gigs. Atleast for me it is.

i know about a half hour of raw video data took about 5 gigs on my disk.

I think it's around 7-9 minutes of raw video for every GB?
