Time for new PSU?

I bought a barebones Diablotek MODEL CPA-0280. Came with the following PSU

in Feburary 2012. I normally keep my desktop on at all times (24/7), connected to a APC Back-UPS 550. I do some gaming and a lot of compiling software.

Originally onboard graphics, 1x7200rpm HDD

I than added a GPU, and a second 7500rpm HDD beginning of this year.

I noticed loud wining noise that would sometimes go away if I reboot and/or stop running applications. My desktop collects a lot of dust, so I try to clean it out every few weeks and attributed the noise to dust.

Just a week or so ago, my desktop will shutdown randomly doing basic tasks like web browsing or opening/moving windows. It's happened 3 times this past week. It simply turns off, no warning, no insane temperature that I can see.

My guess is I have a bad PSU, and I should upgrade to one with more power (600w?) I want to know other peoples opinion. Nothing is overclocked

Any help is much appreciated.

It is best to not skimp on the PSU. If you are getting random shutdowns without anything in the error log then it likely is due to the PSU failing. The Rosewill Hive 650 is a good choice(even though your system only requires about 150-200W) at $50 after rebate.

That's the exact PSU I had in my wish-list as it's on sale. Do you have experience with my current PSU brand? I fear it's advertised rating is more than it's actual output.

The name "Diablotek" stuck with me (I like playing the game Diablo) when I was researching PSUs for my new systems, so I have gone back over my tracks and rediscovered the review (albeit of a different Diablotek PSU) which I found here:

As you can see from the conclusion the PSU did not fare too well in the review.

Although it may seem from my other posts that I am a Corsair fanboy, I did do a lot of research before handing over my money.

If you had had another PSU with another name and if the review hadn't stuck in my mind as being so negative and at the same time humorous, I probably would not have been able to help you - it was a few months back after all.

The Hive is a fairly good power supply, same platform as one of the better OCZ units.
There are better power supplies, if you care to look.

I've been reading reviews on Newegg about my particular PSU. Seems I'm reasonable in saying this PSU is of poor quality. So I just ordered the Hive since there is a coupon for $20 off until tomorrow, didn't want to pass up that offer.

Forgot to check back on this thread. I got and installed the PSU last weekend.

Everything works fine, except now on a side note either my mobo or CPU doesn't like to be overclocked :\
