Time for new PSU

I am going to a quad core system in the near future. The psu in my sig has been doing fine but I feel I may finaly push it to far as I also want to add a TB ( 2@500 gig internal HD ) of storage at the same time. My question is how large a supply do I need? I have been looking at this one but I do not know if a 150watt increase will do the job.

Any suggestions?

I keep seeing these jacked up wattage calculators on line that seem to think I need a bigger psu to support the rig I want to build.

They are wrong, nowadays a decent 500w unit can pretty much power any single videocard PC out there. We're talking Earthwatts 500w, corsair 450vx, for 50-60$. Some might even argue 380/430w earthwatts is plenty, which can be had for 30-40$. Your 600w OCZ will do just fine hehe.

FWIW the problem with some online psu calcs is people with quad core cpu's typically choose "quad cpu" which references 4 individual cpu sockets. A quad core cpu occupies a single cpu socket, therefore the correct choice is single cpu. Your current OCZ 600W psu should be more than adequate for a C2Q upgrade.

Thanks for the help! That should save me a couple hundred dollars which will probably go into more/better ram!
