Hi guys!

I use my computer mainly for Homework and Games, and with such games as Half-Life 2, WOW Beta and such just around the corner im thinking of upgrading some parts. I just replaced my old ATI Rage Video Card with an Asus Radeon 9600 XT.

Well i bought my comp 1 year ago, it came with:

Intel P4 2.4 Ghz (A) only 400 mhz
Mobo: Intel 845WN - not really best mobo for games, wasnt made for gaming, more like office use, 400 mhz, Agp 4x, and the worst part is that it only supports SDRam :(
512 SDRam - yes P4 and sdram :(

Well my question is should I keep my comp for now and maybe buy a new one in like 2 years, or should I upgrade my Motherboard and Ram?

If you guys think its a good idea to upgrade my mobo and Ram what motherboard would you guys reccomend that has 400 mhz fsb, supports AGP 8x, and DDR Ram? Also what would be a good speed for DDR ram? DDR333, DDR400, and how much Ram should i get, i was thinking 768 or maybe 1 Gb.

Thanx for any help.

Wait until after a game you want to play is out and runs badly. Half-Life might be delayed another 9 months when Valve has a serrver crashe and/or a dog eats their homework, and WOW might be another buggy or bland MMOG.

Wait...that is a crappy system (save an alright video card), but you should wait until you *need* to replace it. With games coming out, that should only be six more months max :)...but when it all comes down to it, you'll be better off, since you were able to manage with a P4 + SDR SDRAM combo this long.
