First layoff for me at my place of employment since I've worked there ( 1992 ) It'll be about 8 weeks at about $425.00 a week.

Just gonna treat it as a paid vacation. This time of year slows down quite a bit and I didn't have to do the layoff but it was offered. It's been offered in the past but I never took it. Gonna go down to SoCal in mid Jan and help my brother in law move to Tacoma, Wa.

This will be nice.

the thing is with layoffs offered by companies, once you come back they might think they didn't miss you or really need you at all so you get laid off.

They are going to see how much productivity went up after you left, and fire you when you get back :D
