I've had it with my D-Link WBR-1310. I have the latest firmware which made things better, but the thing has big time problems with locking up when data is transferring via a wireless connection for a while. The big problem is that the router will lock up on occasion and I have to unplug the unit and wait a few minutes and plug it back in for it to start working again.

Been like this for years, but now I am getting ready to do some networking upgrades and this thing is going.

I have these requirements:
1) cost ($70 at most, under $50 preferred)
2) reliability
3) b/g support (n is desired but not if it costs to much)
4) handles my DSL connection (dial/log-in stuff)

This is all I really care about. After reading some post, alot of people seem to like the use of DD-WRT. Heck, here are three ideas for routers:

I use the WRT54G with DD-WRT firmware. It was a lot better than my previous WBR-2310 despite the WBR-2310 being rated higer. As long as you hack the WRT54G with DD-WRT, you got yourself an amazing cheap router.

Either go with WRT54GL, Asus WL-520GU or Asus WL-500 G Premium v2 (Last one has much better hardware) and flash any with ddwrt for a very stable router with lots of features.

I'd like to use the stock firmware if possible, but if this DD-WRT firmware is that good, I will use it. And I checked, the WBR-1310 is not on the compatibility list.
