I have a herniated disc from a injury when i was young. Over the years, I have tried every type of bed out there and found them all uncomfortable.

For the past 2 1/2 years now, been sleeping on Serta Raised Air Bed with Never Flat Pump. Has not gone flat or punctured so far and i sleep on it daily.

It's the most comfortable sleep thus far and easy to move/clean under. Don't over inflate it or the seals will leak, learned this the hard way.

I actually have one of those from several years ago in college. Mine is probably a different brand, though, but it looks pretty close to the one I have laying around in a box somewhere. I slept on mine for 6 months or so, worked well for the $80 mine was. Just have to watch for pets though; my roommate at the time had a cat, but I kicked it's ass whenever it got close to the bed.

I bought this 12" Serta memory foam from Sams for $600 two months ago and totally love it:

I did add this 2.5" gel topper for $100 so that I could swap out every few years in case there was any sagging. It definitely made the bed more comfortable to me...

Got a King size Malm bed from Ikea have been sleeping like a baby ever since...

The reason I got the mattress from Sams was that this was my first memory foam mattress...I wanted to be able to swap it out for another easily in case it didn't work out...Sam's was closer and had a better selection of reasonably priced mattresses than Costco to me...

So just an update for those that care if any.

I pulled the trigger on the Tuft & Needle queen sized 10" thick mattress. The 10" just came out. Ordered and it was delivered about 10 business days later. Seems comfortable. Time will tell if we have any more back issues.

People have made complaints that these can smell and not be "breathable". I've not noticed either of these to be a problem with it. Mattress is firm, but comfortable. Doesn't have the "push" of the spring which is nice. Cost $500 shipped w/ a 30 day, no hassle return policy. It will take year to really confirm whether or not we will be "happy" with it though. Seems good so far... lol

I can't stand memory foam myself. I always feel like I'm smothering. I like sleeping on top of my bed instead of in it.

But that's just me. Considering how much time we all spend sleeping, I'd get the one that is most comfortable for you, and not for everyone else on ATOT.

Both eventually (fairly quickly) sag in the middle, I want to try air filled ones next...

This isn't memory foam. Definitely feels like you're laying on top when on it. As for the latter remark, of course, but I think that some public discourse can lead to a more informed decision. :colbert:

Hopefully not, but our last mattress took about 2.5 years to start sagging. If this lasts just as long, I would say the money was worth it.
