LMAO!

The official said it may soon be clear how much command and control over the insurgency Saddam actually had while he was in hiding. ?We can now determine,? he said, ?if he is the mastermind of everything or not.? The official elaborated: ?Have we actually cut the head of the snake or is he just an idiot hiding in a hole??

I just read that when the troops were pulling him out of the hole, he announced he was 'willing to negotiate.'
Sounds kinda cooperative doesn't it? ;) Too bad he's several months late.

There are mixed reports about him cooperating.

He's apparently not telling the US what we hope to hear, make of it what you will.

Forget all that stuff. That comes AFTER he gives information. I'd pump him so full of sodium pentathol that it'd be coming out of his ears. Then I'd get out of him what I wanted and send him along to trial. Easy as pie.

Well, Time reports "news," doesn't it. They've got to report something. The interrogation of Saddam will be a long, drawn out process. Do you hear the fat lady singing yet? No, you don't!

EDITED: Just read the Time article. I love this quote "The official said the names found on this piece of paper will be valuable and could lead to the capture of insurgency leaders around the Sunni Triangle." This is what they give to reporters to speculate on. Think about if you were in a secret insurgent's meeting. Would you sign your real name? Hell, I don't think there's anyone on this board who signs his or her real name. Gee, maybe when they had the meeting signup sheet they had a few blanks for "Address" too.

Second, suppose Saddam was spilling his guts. Do you think the intelligence people are going to come out of the building and be interviewed and reply, "Yeah, he told us where the El Amafi cell headquarters are. We're assembling a strike team now." Give the intelligence people some credit. They've found it more profitable to spill spoiled beans than not to spill the beans at all.

Least he didn't use the term 'wet boy.'

It will be a long process. Remember, this guy is no stranger to lying. I doubt he will cooperate fully, unless of course we threaten to dangle him from a helicopter 4 feet off the ground over a Kurdish or Shia village.

Those "mixed reports" are a result of him not telling them what they want to hear. They're expecting him to just come out and say "yeah, I have WMDs, they're over there". The guy most likely is telling them most of what he knows. I mean, fvck, when they draged his ass in he looked tired. He didn't look to be in any condition to fight back. After all, the US beat the crap out of his army, killed his son's and chased him down a rat hole (so to speak). I think if he had anything, he'd realize how pointless it is to hold back any info now. Unless he's holding it back out of spite. Guess all we can do is give them a few months to trick him into saying whatever they want. Then, HOPEFULLY, we can get the focus back to Bin laden and what's going on in Afganistan.
