Hi there.
I live in a large household where I pay the internet bills. I have asked my housemates to stop using the net to download before 12 due to the restrictions on my account. They will noit listen. Is there a way that I can throttle the bandwidth at certain times for certain protocalls, especialy p2p.

I know of programs to do thism IP cOP and monowall software but I needed somthing with a time delay aswell.Help me befor my isp cuts me off and its to late :) Any ideas?

Regards
Jez

Honestly, if they won't play by your rules disconnect them. Until they pay for it you have every right to NOT give them your service.

seriously. the only way some people learn is by playing hardball. besides, if you dont deal with *them*, clearly your ISP will deal with all of you.

I believe tomato or dd-wrt firmware has the ability to throttle traffic based on time of day.

Perhaps not exactly what you want but Linksys wrt54g provides the ability to competely disable internet access to pc's by their mac address, Ip address or IP range.

Something you might consider if you already have this hardware. Or can give you an idea of what your hardware may be capable of.
