Tile painting practical?

Our bathroom's tile work is fairly recent but the design is interrupted by these awful pink flower tiles.. It's a coop and construction headaches are aplenty, and I'm looking for a cheap fix - is there a reliable, relatively way to paint the tiles that will hold up to the dampness?

The tiles in the tub can technically stay, but theyre also quite fugly so water/mildew standing up is best. I see tile paint epoxies on amazon but the reviews are very spotty, I'm wondering if it's user error or bad products.

THANK YOU!

The paint would be uglier than the tiles.

Nah, if you sand it, prime it, paint it, and finish it with a clear urethane, it can look pretty decent. It's just a pain to do, but it's pretty cheap compared to having to replace the tile!

Wonderful! Seems easy enough to refresh the whole room, thanks!

Check on Google Images for some ideas. A lot of people just go with plain white (including over the grout), but some people do some pretty neat faux finishes. I've done faux wood using stain on other projects & it has turned out pretty well (surprisingly!). There are some pretty talented people who do faux marble too (then just slap some clear urethane over the top of it). Just depends on how much work you want to do...

What about just pulling out the flowered tiles and replacing with some colored accent tiles of the same size?
