Tiger woods arrested on DUI charge

Looks pretty wasted in his mug shot? I can't even friggen tell that's him heh. Holy shit.

I have to say though, I love seeing a celebrity burn out. Mostly because I don't care for them in general.

i

Wow he hasn't won in any major tournament since 2008 U.S. Open.
Of course he looks wasted, probably from not sleeping since his arrest 3 am and released 10:50am.

Dang I wanna live that rock style life!

When does the Tiger Wood's VR live a golfer's life game come out?

He hasn't been actually relevant in the sports realm for almost a decade yet him catching a DUI is somehow newsworthy....

People love it when you lose, they love dirty laundry...

Tiger keeps trying to get himself in the news with his latest comeback du jour just to keep the endorsement dollars rolling in. So he's fair game.

So apparently it was prescription medication and not alcohol (it just happened to show up on TV news here at work). At least that's what he said, so I guess we'd have to wait and see what officials say. Basically it was an unexpected reaction.

As a side note that article website is TERRIBLE. Literally like 200 pixels of actual article space, the rest is all BS that does not go away when you scroll. I freaking hate that web design trend.

I watched an episode of MASH 4077. Every time something bad happens to these guys they get wasted. Wife left them? Get wasted. Lost a patient? Get wasted. How is getting wasted going to do anything but potentially make your problems worse?

Tiger got a DUI. So what. He will go through nothing that the "regular joe" will go through, in fact, it could financially be the best thing that could happen. Here is my thinking:

So regular joe gets thrown in the can for a DUI.

He doesn't have money for a top end lawyer, so he pleads guilty.

Because he pleads guilty, he loses his driver's license.

Because he lost his driver's license, he loses his job.

Because he lost his job, taxes (state, local, federal) do not get paid - not good for the 'ole US of A, by the way.

Because taxes do not get paid, he loses his house and his family is on the street.

Tiger?

He gets the best lawyer money can buy, hops in his limo wherever he needs to go - like one of his mansions. He smokes a Cuban cigar and drinks Cognac while making a deal for millions on how he beat his "addiction".

Give me a break.

I think you'd be surprised. Unless he has a very good lawyer who can get the case dismissed or greatly reduced, he's likely to go through exactly what you or I would go through. Minus, of course, the financial hardships of missing work and spending a significant amount of your take-home pay on lawyers, fines and court fees, plus the inconvenience of losing your license for however long the court says.

He may, but lets face it: He will go to one day in court, and get the best deal he can.

As for the minus' you listed, well, that's pretty much everything negative to a DUI. As for a license, that is the nail in the coffin, and much more that a small inconvenience for a working stiff with a family. That is financial and mobility death.

Maybe if they took away his limo and forced him to take the bus...

Exactly like anyone else. DUI hearings aren't that involved.

Then clearly your jealousy over his wealth has little to do with how a DUI offense will affect him. If it had been "Tiger Woods' house burned down" it would be the same thing. It's a helluva lot more of an inconvenience when a working stiff's house burns down than it is for someone worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

An unexpected reaction. What a crock. Last week he said that his surgery had provided instant relief from pain and he felt great. So why, 5 weeks after surgery, is he taking pain meds in such quantities and combinations that his driving is so impaired he gets arrested? The "unexpected reaction" seems to be that same one that anyone gets when they abuse meds - meds he doesn't even need (according to him.)

DUI rules apply differently based on who you are.

Have a heart, he suffers from affluenza, a truly horrible disease.

Here, it doesn't matter if it was meds or an OTC. It's still dui. That said, it does matter who you are/know. Local politician was drunk at the steeplechase, hit a car, left the scene, cussed out the cops at his house. A special judge was appointed so he could plead to 1 charge of reckless driving.

Not saying I believe him - and not that prescription medication is an excuse either... Especially if it's an addictive one like opiates..

To be honest, though - I did look at the mug shot yesterday and mumble "hrmm, his eyes don't look bloodshot in the slightest".
