Anyone play this online? I just got it a few days ago .... I must say .. game play is alot better on the Wii but the graphics and more options are better on the PS3.

However, I feel like I am missing something with this game. When I played online I played someone that was my skill level (1 ... I said I was new) but he could drive the ball 60 yards further ... more spin control .. etc.

I have gone through the training but my skill lvl stays at 22% .... what do I have to do to get that to move???

Anyways ... if you want an ez match ... add SwearingCashew.

I despise EA sports.. Only good thing about their games is the audio commentary..

While I'm not familiar with the PS3 version, the game has a very steep learning/progression curve. It will take you a while to really get your swing correct. Spend a lot of time on the driving range and challenges to boost your skill. Make sure you take the club STRAIGHT BACK and STRAIGHT FORWARD, this is harder than it sounds. I put my thumb perpendicular to the thumbstick. Don't forget you have power boost.

How do you use power boost when using the thumb swing? I use the 3 click swing most of the time since it is easier to adjust.

In '07 you would rapidly press the A button when swinging. As you improved it really added distance. I haven't played 08 so I "assume" the controls are very similar.

what? am I chopped liver? Only golfers would want to play this and they're too busy playing golf. But looking outside at all the ice covering everything I can't really play real golf.

Keep playing, build your character. Once you get above 60% you'll start feeling like you can play the game. STEEP progression curve.

Have you got a hole in one yet? you will.

Almost all of my skills are at 110. However .... I got that on easy. When I play online its "balanced" and the swing speed is much faster ... so another learning curve. That being said .. I am 0-2 online .. lol
