i was wondering if normal 32bit/33mhz cards work in the 64bit 33mhz slots on the Tyan Tiger MP(pic here)from the pic it looks like 32bit cards would fit but i don't know if they would work. i really need all the PCI slots i can get so i was leaning towards this board for a dualie setup provided the 64bit PCI slots work with 32bit cards.

<< yup they work fine :) >>

They are fully backward compatible. The 64/66 slots on the MPX boards are not due to voltage requirements. I have the Thunder K7 and have had the Tiger MP.. both work fine with the 32bit 33MHZ cards.

thanks a ton fellas. dual durons here i come:D.

one other question though, will the Tiger MP work with unbuffered ram? or will it work if only 1 or 2 slots are filled with unbuffered and the other 2 dimm slots are empty?

the board only "officially" supports unbuffered ram if its only used in the first 2 slots.... but ive heard of people being able to use 3 sticks

but if you want to use all 4 slots, and you want stablilty you better get registered ram

From what Ive heard you need single sided registered ECC to run 4 slots as well stably. I only recommend Samsung PC2100 ECC Registered as it seems to be the most proven in these boards. Crucial seems to be flaky at best.
