To me seems like not a bad price for even a refurb since the Sylvania posted in this forum from Big Lots is the same price and has far inferior specs. It too is most likely refurbed as BL generally sells only refurbed TV's, printers, etc, although they don't make a point of telling one that. About any others I have seen this cheap have been EDTV at best, with some being monitor only. It may not be a red hot deal, but where else can you find even a refurb with the same specs for the price? Any links?

But, unless one purchases the extended warranty I would be wary since getting service for a non-refurb can be a problem. Even then, I am not sure how good the TD extended warranty is.

To me maybe the best thing about the deal is that it signifies a point where future refurbed prices will fall even lower as I suspect more will become available after the Christmas season as returns start flowing in.

I second this. Even with the 2 year extended warranty that's a great price and this tv looks a ton better than any sylvania lcd/plasma, but I've had nothing but bad experiences with TD and I no longer purchase anything there. Plus the newer flat panels are rated at 60,000 hours for their half life anyways so you're not saving that much if you just buy a new good tv at regular price and it lasts you 20+ years.

I think it is a good deal. You cannot never find a 42 inches plasma although refurb. You know they also come with a limited warranty as well. Cheers! :)
