Never knew they had physical retail stores.

Also, the website name was always stupid, though not as bad as rakuten.com

Yeah. Between their purchases of CompUSA and Circuit City, they kepts some stores opened under the Tiger Direct name.

whoa, what? Not only did I learn, just now, that Tiger Direct had physical stores...they actually bought CompUSA and CC?

😵

Meh, they were only down south anyway. I'd love if we had a computer parts store here. On the other hand, I'd probably spend way too much money buying stuff I don't really need just because I don't have to pay shipping.

TD bought the NAMES CompUSA and CC after both went bankrupt. Don't think TD bought out either chain. TD just took the names and assumed the leases on some of CUSA's and CC's old locations, but only a few.

Remember in the Radio Shack thread where I said Tiger Direct was next up on my electronics store death watch? Nailed it.

The company is closing almost all of their physical retail locations and focusing on B2B operations. Kevin O’Leary (Dragon's Den/Shark Tank) has signed on to assist with the transition.

Liquidation sales are already starting.

They've been busy boys lately. Two execs at the company were just sent to jail for accepting bribes and kickbacks.

Hopefully Microsoft is next.

Yeah, Tiger Direct had actually taken over Comp USA in a large strip mall near me next to a Barnes and Noble.

It wasn't named Tiger Direct I forget what it even was offhand.

I'd only went into it once looking for a trackball, it was pretty much dead.

*On a side note, it was in the same strip mall that the closed down Radio Shack had been in*

Won't miss them. Didn't even know they had any stores.

Worst online buying experience I've ever had was dealing with TigerDirect and what should have been a simple RMA some years ago. Never bought another thing from them.

Did anyone else read this thread title as "Tiger Direct B&M Clothing Stores"?

Now that would be interesting...
