I am in the market for a welder but I'm not sure which to get at the local homedepot. They have two types a TIG and old fashioned stick type. What's the difference and which is better? I am building a prerunner truck from tube and aluminum mainly 1/4 - 3/8 tube wall thickness and 1/32nd aluminum body pannels will be attached to the tubes.

Also I would like to be able to weld 1/2" channel occasionally.

Do I need both?

What kind of TIG welder is it? TIG just stands for Tungsten Inert Gas.It can be a stick or a wire feed arc welder.

I have no idea. My only experiance with welding is stick in highschool metal shop...

Basically I'm just looking for the best bang for the buck for my application.
