Tie tying is pissing me off

I need to tie a neck tie for tomorrow, I'm wearing my Class A Army uniform.

I know how to tie a necktie, but not so that its straight.

Now I'm looking up the four-in-hand, the half windsor and the half windsor and I'm all confused.

just google it, that's what I do when i need to wear a tie. I wear either a full windsor or a half windsor.

i tried once and then just asked my gf to do it for me

the trick is to never undo them once they are tied, slip it over the head for later use

Thats how i do it. Because once the tie gets unraveled your back to square one.

Full windsor. You just gotta hit it at the right spot and make sure everything's tight on each step. Of course if you've got a big fat tie that doesn't have a nice taper it's much harder.

And I was taught that the knot must match the type of collar on the shirt. I real man knows how to use the right tool (knot) for the job.

I think I do the Half Winsor. But I always get the half and whole messed up.

I go big end around the back, them up through the middle and down and around all the way then up through the hole from the back and then down underneat the part there from crossing in front of the tie.

Get it tied right once and never, ever untie it. Just loosen it and slip it over your head. I haven't had to retie my tie in fifteen years.

Edit: It is critical to pick a tie that matchs anything you might wear in the future.
