Sellable. Good brand name. While working at several top retailers in loss prevention, this was actually a high theft item. People would steal them and take truckloads down to, wait for it... Mexico! Apparently it is quite profitable somehow.

He and other law enforcement officials across the country say Tide theft is connected to the drug trade. In fact, a recent drug sting turned up more Tide that cocaine.

I kind of figured this would be the case.

The last laundry detergent I bought was Era. And I bought it specifically because on the front it said that it was "Chuck Norris approved". That's all I need to hear.

I thought you needed draino for meth. Or is tide another ingredient? lol.

I would figure mouthwash would be a bigger theft item. Natives lol.

perhaps they're mixing the cocaine with the tide to disguise it and hide the smell from dogs?

So stealing Tide and smuggling it into Mexico, so they can smuggle it back with cocaine?

No.

Although someone I know purchased a bag of roca in Cabo that ended up being mostly laundry detergent. Related? Too hard to say.
