Ticketmaster to start auctioning tickets

So.......? Most of the time the best seats anyway are unavailable to the best concert go-ers, it just ends up to some ticket reseller on eBay. Same deal, different auctioneer

This is not the same as scalping. Scalping is selling tickets above ticket value. Ticket Master and the Venue set the value. Thus auctioning them off for fair market value, is there value. And yes artists WILL get more money, as they get a % not a set amount.

This is really no different that what happens 95% of the time now. Ticket brokers, who use legal loopholes, buy lots of 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 tickets, then sell them for higher prices via auctions.

I find it hard to believe that additional money will go to the artists under this senario.
Hmm let me think: OK, a token increase in money (not much!) will go to the artist just so the whole idea can be sold/justified.

It's called "Take it to the limit, as long as there is *some* justification for what they're doing.
