There's a fee to do business online. Then there's a fee to do business with ticketmaster. Then there's a fee for convenience with ticketmaster. Then there's a fee to do business with ticketaster online. Then there's a fee for convenience online. then there's a convenience fee to do business with ticketmaster online. Then there's a fee to use the mouse. Then there's a fee to use the keyboard. Then there's a fee to use the monitor. Then there's a fee to use the PCI bus that your network card is plugged in to. Then there's a fee to convert domain name to IP address through DNS servers. Then there's a fee for using their bandwidth. Then there's a fee for burning up electricity that powers their servers. then there's a fee for you looking at them funny. Then there's a fee for grass being green. Then there's a fee for rice being white. Then there's a fee for some rice being brown. then there's a fee for a fuel surcharge for the CEO of ticketmaster to get to work every day. Then there's a fee for recycling network packets. Then there's a fee to ...

Mr. Burns: And to think, Smithers, you laughed when I bought ticketmaster. "Nobody's going to pay a hundred percent service charge."

Smithers: It's a policy that ensures a healthy mix of the rich and the ignorant, sir.

So....what are the alternatives? Sneak into the venue? Bribe the ticket person? Parachute into the crowd? (only works for outdoor shows)

Buy it from the box office?

Saving $40 would make the drive worth it.

Or check eBay/Craigslist.

Sure it is, you just don't want to. Not that I am defening ticketbastard or anything.

Scalpers always have excess inventory they're dying to get rid of. A ticket that's face $40 and selling for $60 pre-show is $10 once the warm-up band starts.

Let's be clear about this. You did not get raped, you chose to do business with thieves. You dropped trou, bent over and begged for it.

Yeah, it annoys the hell out of me. Whenever I go to see a show at the Dodge Theater here in Phoenix, I always buy at the box office. I can upgrade to the next level of seats and pay the same amount as I would for the cheapest tickets through ticketmaster o_O)

Agreed, ticketmaster is evil. I was going to buy tickets online for the show I'm going to tonight. $15 per ticket, with a $6 convenience charge per ticket. I just drove to the box office and got face value, best way to do it.
