Ticketmaster has officially gone too far

"They recently purchased ticketsnow.com for $265M. While trying to purchase tickets to an event recently I was told no tickets were available 1 minute after they went onsale. However, the same page telling me it was sold out offered a link where I could purchase tickets "right now" for 1000% over the face value of the ticket price. Yes, they offered to sell me a $50 ticket for $500!! The website was ticketsnow.com."

Also, it appears Canada has had enough of it.

Scalping is universally hated, but when the people selected to sell the originals buy them all up to scalp themselves (ticketmaster) it just seems that much worse.

I havent been to a concert since 2004 because of all the nonsense.

If people are stupid enough and willingly pay for tickets for 100% over the face value, I don't see why the scalper should stop. In this case ticketmaster is a well known ticket scalper, yet they have no problem selling tickets to the willingly. It's a business. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Oh wait, you can't help yourself, you must go watch your favorite group/singer/show. The problem is not ticketmaster, it's people like you who encourage them to scalp you by buying overpriced ticket time after time.

It is my fault. I'm so sorry.

Supply = Demand? If you feel you're paying too much, don't buy it.

wtf do you care? if the tickets sold out, why not give you a link to buy them for more expensive? its better than nothing...

however, what they did with bruce tickets by offering the more expensive tix before it actually sold out, thats messed up

It's believed that ticketmaster withheld regular price tickets to put them on ticketsnow.com.

If I understand this correctly, Ticketmaster bought another company, and is selling a large chunk of the tickets that they are in charge of selling, to the other company, essentially selling them to themselves, and then scalping from there. If I was a band or venue, I'd be pissed, because now Ticketmaster is getting a larger chunk of the ticket proceeds. Plus it's just a low down dirty tactic anyway.

Ticketmaster: "I can has monopoly!?!?!"

I stopped buying from those scammers long ago, I buy from the venue or another source, or I don't see the show. Fuck them.
