Just looking at the TI89 on a website and one of its selling points:

"Symbolic Differential Equation Solving: Compute exact symbolic solutions to many 1st- and 2nd-order ordinary differential equations."

I've been using a TI89 got a while and didn't know it could do this... I certainly didn't find it under any of the menues and I don't know how to enter "dy" "dx" or y' in a form it would like... Anyone have experience with this?

This would speed up engineering homework a bit, lol.

DeSolve function in the bottom of the calc menu.

You do something like:

DeSolve((sin(x)*y''+cos(x)*y'+5y=0),x,y) I believe. So instead of doing a dy or a dx you use the apostrophe: '

hehe, I miss my TI-89...well, not really, since that would mean that I'd have calc again.
