Just just happend like a few hours ago. When trying to play any game (BF1942 or Rainbow 6) my video signal just drops. My monitor goes into standby mode. It works fine in windows. I didn't change ANYTHING at all. I think i am looking at a faulty video card. BTW my fan is running. I got a Geforce 4 ti 4200 from Gainward.

No the problem with this is most likely, I'd say 80% of the time, that your game is running at resolution your monitor don't support. In order to solve this problem fix your resolution to 1024x768 and refresh rate at 75hertz. (That is I assume that your monitor supports it) Try the refresh rate overwrite properties in your nvidia driver. Allow only 1024x768 75hertz to work in games. Now try those games. Make sure once into the game set your game properties to the same setting also.

Well it worked this morning fine! I didn't change my options at all so I believe it is still my hardware. My fan on my video card seems to be working. I am using a CRT. I can play in a game for about 5 minutes or sometimes less or it won't even start.

I have the same problem in my system with unreal tournament only!! It won't get past the nvidia spash screen. This only happens at overclocked fsb (166mhz =mild overclock) Does your card use and extra power cord?? mark

No mine doesn't. It is a Geforce 4 TI4200 so it doesn't need one. I tried it in another computer today and it did the same thing. :( Looks like I do need to RMA it.
