Ti4200 Release Date?

Does anyone have a good guess as to when the GeForce4 Ti4200 will hit the market? This is the "ti200" version of the GeForce4 family right? Also, it should be a good deal?

Let me know if I should wait for this card.

I plan to wait for one of these. Last info I saw (about a week ago) said they would be faster than the Ti500 for <$200. I think they said they will be released sometime late March/early April. I could be wrong though, just going by memory.

somebody mentioned a week ago that it was still 7 weeks out... I also heard that it would be the last available out of the gf4's i tend to beleive that based on the fact that nvidia doesn't want to screw over their partners by releasing a cheaper product befor the older stock is depleated.

When they say <$200 that means $199.99 ... personally I don't think the Ti4200 will be that much better than a Ti200. If you're currently running an MX or anything, you may as well upgrade to a Ti200 now. The Ti200's won't drop in price much more (they're already at about $130 I think - the 4200 isn't in their price range), and they are still very fast. The 2 pixel/vertex shadars of the GF4's are very nice, but they're not the be-all end-all upgrade for video cards.

hmmm...

1. Buy a $50 GF2 GTS now, buy $200 GF4 Ti4200 later?
2. Buy GF3 Ti200 now and overclock it, and live with that for a while?

Yeah either of those options make perfect sense, it's your choice. It just depends if you want really fast performance now or later (although the difference isn't THAT significant).
