I am in the same position. I needed a new card NOW and could not wait for the 9500 PRO so I purchased a ti4200. What card do you currently have? Can you wait for the 9500 PRO? DO you need it for Xmas? If you can wait, do so. Read the NEW Anandtech review of the 9500-PRO and you will find that it is between the 4400 and 4600 at normal settings and it beats the 4600 with AA turned on.

doh...didn't think it was that high for $. this would be a xmas present from a relative I'm trying to keep around $100. open to recommendations, how would you rate the 9000 Pro to the 9500 Pro and to the ti4200

don't necessarily need best in the world gfx, just looking for a nice upgrade from my GF2 GTS Pro

thanks for the info

The 9000pro is nowhere near the 9500pro and ti4200. You're better off getting the 8500 if you're looking at the 9000pro.

get the radeon 8500 [or 8500LE] if the 9500 is out of your budget. Dont look at a 9000/pro.
and get the 128mb card.

if money is not an issue... the 9500 will wipe the floor with the ti4200.
