What's the best vid card to go with a pentium III 500 Mhz --> Geforce 3 TI200 or TI500 and what can we expect from performance ?

Thx

if the prices are same or very close, get ti500. otherwise get ti200, only difference is the clock speed on memory and gpu.
and usually u can overclock ti200 well around/over ti500 speed.

unless u upgrade ur cpu in the near future, u might as well get the ti200 becuz ur cpu will be the bottleneck.

i apologize if i am not an overclocker.

I would have said the same thing you did. the CPU is too slow for any good video card... that's all there is to it. Ti200 for sure.

i was speaking that fact that the price difference is so minor these days that one might as well go with a ti500. also while the cpu will be holding things back in either case, the ti500 will still show an improvemnt in fps over the ti200 anyway in many situations, espesialy those were fsaa and/or anisotropy are used.
