Well I must be lucky or those reviews tell lies to keep the suppliers happy.
I just brought a Leadtek/Winfast Geforce Ti200 because I thought I would
just overclock it to equal a Geforce 3.
The thing came with only a fand and sink on the chip, I nearly didn't buy it
since all the review ones seemed to have cooling on the ram too.
My trusty stockest showed me the 4ns ram so I did buy it.
Anyway the thing is it, the ram, clocks well over 500mhz (520 and I stopped
since there is no cooling) but I was wondering how high can I go safely
with 4ns ram? I know the Geforce 3 runs at 460 with 4ns, but do they need
coolong?
As a note the dam chip hit 275 mhz!!!
with a Athlon 1600 XP on a Epox 8KHA+ with 2100 ram I get the same score as
the reviews for the Ti500 when I o/c to the Ti500 specs.
Great video card and half the price!

My Elsa Gladiac 920 (Original , 1st Generation Geforce 3)
has 3.8 ns DDR .. most of the original Geforce 3's do..
If I remember correctly, that is 500 mhz, and still within specifications..

Yep I got the same card. I routinely run it at 233/533 with NO additional cooling. I'm half tempted to put a fan on it some how to really cool the ram and see JUST how high will go. I'm VERY impressed with this card. its awesome. I've had it as high as 250/550 but I would get a couple artifacts in 3dmark so I dont trust it there.

Yip.. the GF3 Ti200's are nice cards.

Mine's a Gainward and it's silky stable with zero crash & artifacts@ 240/540 w/ no additional cooling.

zero artifacts, but crashes@ 250/550 w/ no additional cooling.

The future plan: Video BIOS mod and equip w/ ASII+ASI & SK6 w/ Delta 38CFM and expect to do 300/550 hehehehe...

My Palit Daytona geForce3 Ti200 is running 230/530 totally stable. Might be able to get it higher but I'll let it stay there for now. Great considering that it's the cheapest GF3 based card I could get.
The amazing thing is that it uses 5ns ram, yes it has 5ns ram and is still running 530Mhz stable! It has ramsinks though, but still, what is 5ns rams rated speed?

I would not worry about the ram not having heatsinks. I own the same card, Leadtek Ti200 T, and my memory goes up to about 510 before I start getting artifacts. If I were you I'd see how far you can take the memory without getting artifacts.

But damn, 275 Mhz core! Mine only hits 225. I run mine at 220/500 for the most part, core speed doesn't have a huge affect on most things but that is still huge.

My leadtek Ti200 runs stable at 227/530. Any higher than 530, I'll get artifacts. I wonder if the Ti200 TDH version has better memory clocking since it has a hugh heatsink on it.

for the geforce core....is it better to have one of those huge heat sinks that come with it, or to put a blue orb on them? also, would putting arctic alumina help alot that whats already on there? assuming it has the two holes for the blorb, i wouldn't need to use the arctic alumina epoxy, ne?
