umm, depends on what part your looking at. I generally keep it at 10's all around unless I need to change

That's like asking what's a good tool without knowing what you need to do with it. Chances are, you'll be changing the window almost every time you look at something to get a better view of that particular item.

you have to adjust for every single thing you're graphing/plotting
run some numbers through your equation, see what the results are - start with numbers around that
unless the problems are designed around certain windows(like the default one -10->10), I had one class where the professor gave us a window that would work as extra info on exams
