Ti-200 and normal GF3 have exactly the same features, right?

Just wanna know..... I wanted to go with the Radeon 8500 but I just wanted a card that works out of the box. No matter if it's a little bit slower.

Thanx

Same features, slower core/memory clock.

The GeForce3 Ti 200 is a much easier chip for NVIDIA to make since it features a lower core clock speed than the original GeForce3. A lower core clock speed means that more chips can be sold thus reducing the cost of manufacturing. The GeForce3 Ti 200 core is clocked at 175MHz and the memory clock is reduced to 200MHz DDR (400MHz effective). The original GeForce3 core is clocked at 200MHz and the memory is clocked at 230MHz (460MHz effective).

But the Ti-500 has some new features right? Some new memory-bandwith-ding-dang-bang?

Would it be possible to overclock the Ti-200 to GF3 speeds? So if they are at the same speed, they're just the same, right? Cool.

The GeForce3 Ti 500 core is clocked at 240MHz and the memory clock is increased to 250MHz DDR (500MHz effective). Memory-bandwith is 8.0 GB/s.

If you look at some other threads here, you'll see other folks are oc'ing their GF3 Ti200's close to GF3 spec.

I know what you mean, but the GF3 is about 120$ more than a Ti-200 and I have to make somewhere a stop, cuz I don't have too much money to spend.

actualy the geforce3 ti-200 only about $85 less than a normal geforce3. you may be geting prices confused with the geforce2 ti-200 which is another $45 cheaper than that, but it is just one of the faster geforce2 cards without the withouth the so called "new memory-bandwith-ding-dang-bang" high res anti-alising, beter 2d quality and all the other goodies you get with a geforce3. anyone else thinking that nivdia might be trying to confuse people into mistakeing the two cards intentionaly?

OK, so all GF3 based cards has the memory-bandwith-ding-dang-bang right?

The Geforce 2 Ti or whatever is just a Geforce 2 Pro, right?
