THX Certified Speakers Purchase

Hey everyone!

I was looking into getting some great (money is plentiful- speakers for my computer. I was looking into only THX-certified and came down to two:

Klipsch V.2-400 Promedia Speaker System
Altec Lansing ADA890 Speaker System

Has anyone heard this since I can't find them in stores near me but I have found them online and am unable to listen to them. Would like some input on their quality.

I have the Altec Lansing ADA 885 THX system (got from Dell)

I am REALLY impressed with them. They sound great to me. I'm not what you would call an "audiophile" by anymeans though.

They come with a HUGE sub and a nice little remote. Also there is an backlit LCD screen on one of the satellites along with a headphone jack (very handy). You can change the mode, (dolby digital, stereo, quad, stereo x), bass, treble, and volume all from the one satellite (also very handy).

They are actually way too loud for my apt. I have to listen to headphones most of the time. I don't know if they are louder than the Klipsch or not, but they are pretty loud believe me.

The bass is rich and full, and the midrange sounds great even at high volume. DVD movies sound pretty damn good to me. WAtching "Twister" with these speakers and the sub literally shook my room.

For a computer speaker system they are PLENTY good enough for me.

The Klipsch system you mentioned is discontinued.

The new ones are ProMedia 4.1 (backordered with 1 sub) and 4.2 (with 2 subs). They are $299 for either system and sport an improved crossover, better preamp and headphone jack and extra inputs.

Go to the Klipsch web site and follow the links to their reviews. Beast Buy still has the older Klipsch for $249.

Klipsch makes some amazing speakers. I have the v2-400's and love them. You will not be disappointed with any line of the klipsch speakers.

the Klipsch's are just about the best you can get. I have the v.2 400s and love them.
