Thursday was Epic for me.

So my best friend's dad is pretty wealthy, I have been friends for a long time, about a decade and a half. Anyway, the dad is a race car driver, also owns his own business, so needless to say, he has amount a pretty penny.

So he gets an Aston Martin DBS no less. The DBS arrived a few weeks ago, absolutely stunning. The whole thing is pure sex and epicness.

So Thursday, the dad suggests to my friend he should go drive in it, and I should come with it. Now, we're both 18 years old....what dad in his sane mind would lend a kid that kind of car? Well, my friend also happens to be a race car driver (races track Nisssans atm) so he's fairly experienced.

So we drive around, and this would be a very boring story, but because it was the DBS, it simply can't be. We got eye balled by just about everybody, only one other person in the city/county owns a DBS, so it was a rare appearance. We had some citizen cope blasting on, while we blasted along the I5. I'm not going to say what we did, because I'm not going to incriminate anybody, but I had a sweet time.

I felt like sharing this experience with AT Garage. 😀

as i was reding.. i thought the ending would be in an accident...

well when you ask the question what sane father... you stated father is a race car driver and so is the son ( your friend) so why wouldn't this happen. Its not crazy because both are experienced drivers.

I know. It was a rhetorical question, which I answered in the succeeding sentence. I don't think getting in an accident in a 311,000 dollar car would be epic at all. :Q

I'll be driving uber cars when GT5 comes out on PS3 too. I got the Driving Force GT Racing Wheel already, it's gonna be epic.

Haha, yeah, that game does look nice.

But this was real life. 😱

No, unfortunately not. I have driven STis, Vipers, M5s, and Mustangs, but the dad didn't want me driving his brand new Aston Martin, although he had no problems letting me rev the engine up to 4k a few times. 😀

very nice! But I'd get DB9 instead though and get something else. But when your rich you dont give a f0ck!

Race car driver or not your friend has no business at his age driving that.

Still, I'm glad you had fun, no damage done and it's a nice memory!

well if he has a fair amount of experience with cars of similar power it wouldnt be an issue driving IMO. If he isnt use to 450bhp+ he could get caught out

Legally, he did, his dad insured the car for both himself, his girlfriend, and his son.

Power wise, my friend races cars that are souped up with about just as much horsepower, plus the roads he mapped out were straight, and only curved gradually, even a Mustang going 50 could easily navigate those turns.

My friend thought this out. 😉

S-T-F-U

Jealous much?

Sounds like you had a good time OP.

You were in a DBS, and you were listening to the stereo? Citzen Cope, no less? That's like going to a Victoria's Secret show and reading a book.

Yeah, it was pretty nice. My friend and I drove for a pretty conservative amount of time. His dad went for a walk, and we were back before he was done. He joked with us "back so soon, huh? I thought you'd be past the border by now!"

So it was a short time, but what an experience...what a car!

Haha, we had Citizen Cope on low. The thing that surprised me was the suspension. It was almost like a paradox. The suspension provided a very smooth ride, yet it was very stiff when going around the corners...in my Mustang, a bump in the road feels like a bottomless chasm with the amount of noise and "kathumping" the car does.

In the DBS, it was smooth, and sporty. So definitely very well done there. Inside the cabin, noise was minimal. With the windows up, you'd definitely hear the exhaust start kicking in around ~3.7k RPMs, but it didn't really start hollering til around 5. My friend only took the RPMs up to 6k, but the redline is somewhere around 7k.

And I like Citizen Cope. 😛

I have also driven the BMW M, a very cool car. It's the M version of the Z4, my brother is leasing it. It has the same round of acceleration thrust, they both reach 62mph around 4.4 seconds, although the DBS is rated around 4.3, and the M by BMW as 4.9, but R&T rated theirs around 4.4 seconds.

So I have definitely driven cars of similar caliber, but not of similar quality. The ride, the experience, everything about this car, was simply a delicacy.

And that's sort of why we stopped driving it early. It'd be like gorging yourself on the most delectable of sweets, you either get addicted, and you do it forever, or you barf...or both.
So not wanting to experience either fatigue or sickness, we decided to haul the DBS back to my friend's dad early.

😵, my neighbor paid extra to have the very first DBS delivered to the US and he hasn't taken delivery yet???

That's really weird. I can take pictures, I think. I'll work on getting pictures, but it'd be kinda awkward to come up to his house, snap a few photos, and then walk off.

Whatever, I'll work on it. 😛

Its weird he paid for extra service. I think my friend's dad did a similar thing, but I'm not sure.
