Thunderbird temperature

What's the maximum allowable temperature for a Thunderbird? I have a 1GHz processor that runs at about 114 F. I'm not overclocking at all (unfortunately, even if I wanted to I couldn't overclock more than 50MHz on this crappy chip). Thanks for the info.

if you could read core/die temp, 90-95C depending on chip. But "reading" temp of about 50-60 Depending on MB.

TakedownCA,

Well, after looking at the specs on the AMD website, it appears the 1Gig tops out at 90 deg. Celcius. That comes out to 194 F if you do the math so you're nowhere near the theoretical maximum. I'd say your OC problems lie elsewhere. How are you overclocking? FSB, multiplier or both? What kind of RAM is in your box and what happens when you overclock...no POST? No boot...need more info!

I'm not even going to bother with overclocking right now. I'm too busy with school to worry about possibly frying my pc by accidentally dialing up too much voltage. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't getting too hot... just being my normal anal self. Although I would eventually like to tinker a bit. After all, that's why I got the k7tpro2a in the first place.
