Ok, I have 3 main email accounts that I check, my school, work and gmail. Trying to find a program application that will pull all three of those into one, is Thunderbird my answer or should I go elsewhere?

If you have POP access to all of them then yes. You can set up 3 different accounts and manage them all in one instance of TB.

You should no problem accessing all 3 accounts with TB. You'll have to enable POP access in your Gmail settings in order to download Gmail messages to TB, though.

Thunderbird has a universal inbox feature, so yes, it will do that.

I wasn't aware of that, but I like the fact that I have access to my 3 different ISP accounts all with their own inbox and other folders, etc.

Doesn't Gmail POP and SMTP service each use non-standard ports? Have you tried forwarding those ports if you are behind a router?

I've gotten through everything, then when it tries to get the mail, I get a message stating "Connection to the server pop.gmail.com has timed out"

So can't send message or get my inbox.

Any thoughts?

I got gmail to work and I have my work email going. Only trouble now that I'm having is that even if I send out an email with my work email addy it will automatically go through gmail.

I have a bunch of email addresses going through thunderbird and they all send out through the same smtp server (my isp's). When you compose you have to choose which email address to use as a sender/reply-to but going through the same server shouldn't be a problem.
