Basically it comes down to your Thunderbird. Some work, some don't. Mine doesn't. The Asus K7V and the Abit KA7 work the best so far. Currently, the Asus K7V-T is available overseas but not here. That motherboard is designed specifically to address the problems with the Thunderbird, so if you do get a SlotA Tbird, it would be best to try to find one of them. And as to the question about socketA boards, no the problem does not apply. Those boards use the KT133 chipset, the SlotA boards that have problems use the KX133. The KT133 was made specifically to work with the TBird and SocketA.
