Thunderbird in Fluxbox mail notification

I use thunderbird and fluxbox. I leave it open on desktop 8. And usually work on desktop 1,2.
Is there a way for thunderbird to notify me on all desktops when a new mail is available so
I don't have to keep checking the window.

I'm guessing that putting child windows on the same desktop is a feature, and I kinda doubt it's an option you can change. You could always hack fluxbox (wouldn't be a big hack).

What kind of mail account do you use? There are lots of little apps that can notify you about new mail.
