Thunderbird FSB266 with PC100 SDRAM?

I heard that there can be some problems with running PC100 SDRAM with a chip with a FSB of 266. Is this true? And if so, how would the problems manifest?

Just out of curiosity, where did you hear that from? In my experience boards that are capable of a 133 memory bus can be turned down to 100 MHz to allow for slower memory. I wouldn't want to do this because of the performance hit, but it should be possible.

By default my 8K7A came set to a 100 MHz FSB, and my 1.33 GHz T-bird ran just fine. So I would say you will be fine with PC-100 memory, just not the fastest in the world.

On my KK266 you can use PC100 and the 26fsb as long as you turn on a DRAM 33mhz setting in your CMOS. You cannot use PC66!
