Thunderbird and stuck keys

I recently started using Thunderbird and since then I've had a problem with stuck keys. Occasionally while typing an email whatever key I last hit will get stuck and just keep repeating. Might be the delete key, a letter, number, whatever. And the key is stuck system wide. I've tried restarting TB, which doesn't help, and have to reboot since the same key will show up repeating in any window anywhere until I reboot. Anybody with a solution, without going back to Outlook? Thanks.

Hadn't really thought of replacing the keyboard since this one's only a few months old. It's a cheap one though so couldn't hurt.
