I've been trying to find an AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.4 GHz 200 FSB, but I can't seem to find any, mostly they have the 266 FSB version, does anyone know what would happend if I use the 266 FSB version? I've checked the mobo website and it says it doesn't support that speed, but I've heard someone saying that it shouldnt be any problem. I'm using the K7T Pro2-a MSI mobo. Pls. respond if you have any comment or ideas. thanks

Do you have the KT133 or KT133a chipset?

If you try and use a 133Mhz (266DDR) it will get set to 100Mhz (200DDR) so a 1.4Ghz 133Mhz chip at 100Mhz would be a 1.05Ghz.

If you do have a KT133 chipset and NOT a KT133a chipset then your best bet would be to get a Duron 1.3Ghz. It will have less L2 Cache, BUT will add SSE and all the things the Athlon XP got, just at 100Mhz.

A friend of mine has a Kt7-Raid board and I put a New Duron in it and after updating the Bios it works great.

So get the newwest Bios and then pop in a 1.3Ghz Duron. Just make sure you have a good 300watt power supply.
