Welcome to the forums, Hellbilly. 🙂 It'll work fine. NF2 motherboards are backwards compatible with all Socket A chips.

Running that combo right now actually 😉 Works just fine. One thing though, try to make sure your ram is running at the same speed as the FSB (should be 266 DDR)

a t-bird in the nf2 should outperform a t-bird in an older or inferior chipset

I would imagine a 1.4ghz t-bird would do pretty good for you with the nf2
also if you have good cooling and are gonna overclock the nf2 will be great for you

Sounds nice since i cant afford a new cpu at the time... my t-bird is an unlocked ayhja if i remember correctly so oc-ing it is a must... i will post results soon 🙂

If your memory can handle it, why don't you lower the multiplier and jack up the FSB?

When I had a T-bird 1.4ghz a long long time ago I got it up to 1.6ghz at 1.80 volts.

Try for as much as you can those old t-birds didnt mind the high voltages as much but keep an eye on your temps.

My T-Bird 1.4Ghz used to run at 1.6Ghz@1.775v but required me to import a glacier into my room to cool it. 😀:beer:

just using the lousy taisol it was delivered with... only thing that keeps the temps half decent is the nice case temp... i have 2*120mm low rpm papst fans as intake and 3*80mm papst fans as exhaust.. silent, and casetemp is only about 5C above the temperature in the room.. what HSF should i get? (as silent as possible)
