Thunderbird 1.5

I used thunderbird 1.07 for quite awhile, and I dl'd 1.5 yesterday.

Everything seems to work fine, gave me no troubles.
However, in the last 5 minutes, I've had a small problem twice.

The little notifier pops up in the lower right corner and tells me I have 2 new messages. When I look in the Inbox, nothing new. I've checked in the junk mail folder and the deleted mail folder, nada.

It is also strange that inbetween the two times it has done this (about 5 minutes apart), I had a notification of "1 new message". This turned out to be true, one new email.

Anyone else getting mystery 2 new messages or know what might cause this?

I had this happen with 1.0.6 and 1.0.7. It would place the 'new' email higher up in the inbox pane. Since I save almost all nonjunk email, this list gets pretty long. I just skim looking for the bold email, then delete it, as its almost always junk mail.

i used the linux version of 1.5 and pop mail from google. gave me no such issue

I have this issue too but its always junk mail as with Bateluer. I dont think this is a Thunderbird issue, rather spammers are sending crap out and spoofing the date/time in the headers or something like that.
