Okay, so last night, about 2AM, I was placing an order for a shatload of computer goodies, including 3 250gb SATA drives. About a half hour ago, I realized that I ordered PATA drives instead. Called up Newegg, was on hold for about 45 seconds, asked if I could change an order, gave him the order number, he looked it up... And actually sounded sad that he couldn't do it (it had already shipped).

Damn them for being fast, but extreme kudo points for having a guy that actually gives a sh!t(or at least is good at APPEARING to give a sh!t) about helping the customer answering the phone.

Oh, and if anyone wants to buy a 250gb PATA Seagate 7200.8, they're $117+Ship each. I need to get rid of AT LEAST one.
 
Call him back up and ask him he will allow you to return them for exchange. He might do it without restocking fee. They have been known to know that. It would cost you shipping back to tem and shipping for the new order, but it is probably less than the 20% restocking fee... and you wont have to worry about finding a buyer.

if that guy was REALLLY GOOD he would have told you to ship them back/refuse delivery and given you full credit to order the drives you originally wanted to get.

I'll do that when they actually get here and I can weigh them to see how much it'll cost to send them back.
 
No company can beat Newegg's CS. Newegg will even send you a t-shirt if you e-mail them saying you left them a positive feedback on some site (I forget which one ...).

Amazon also has good CS and the wait time is minimal.
