With all the various b!tching threads about insurance companies, I thought I'd give a  to my sister's insurance company, Traveller's Insurance.

Two weekends ago, we were at my parent's house and my sister backed into our minivan with her car and left a nice gouge, a couple of dents, and paint damage on our car. Her car only had the mirror knocked off. I eventually decided to let her insurance company pay for the damage (was worried about them jacking up her rates when she already has money problems) and she called them on Tuesday.

Tuesday afternoon, I receive a call from a claims adjuster who tells me to take the minivan to a local collision center for an estimate. My wife takes it up there and they tell her she can go ahead and leave it and they will work on it. Even offered her a rental car. My wife said yes to the rental car. Unfortunately, the rental car was not there. Then she found out it was a small rental car. Not good when you are carrying around a baby, a 4-year old, and a 7-year old cousin. The Traveller's claim adjuster shows up and sees my wife with three kids and tells the collision center to give them the SUV rental he saw in the parking lot. He'll have Traveller's pay the difference in price. So, my wife is driving around in a pretty nice Trailblazer right now.

Today, I get a call from Traveller's telling me where the minivan is at in getting repaired. Apparently, they'll be giving me a call everytime it moves from one stage of repair to the next.

Pretty sweet on Traveller's part.

Cliffs:
- Sister hit my wife's minivan
- Sister's insurance has us take it collision center where repair work is started immediately
- Collision center tries to give my wife a car that would not fit our two kids and 7-year old cousin in comfortably.
- Claims adjuster tells center to give wife the SUV and that Traveller's will pick up the difference
- Traveller's is giving me calls everytime the car moves from one stage of repair to the other

Wow, very nice to hear. My wife and I switched to Traveller's when we got married. I was wary because I have always used Allstate. Man, what a rip-off Allstate is.
