Thuderbird Did not install right

I just installed Thunderbird on my PC and when you open the application, the hourglass appears for about a second and then dissapears. Thunderbird never opens.

I tried redownloading the program and reinstalling to no avail.

Any ideas why this is happening?
 
you probably have a corrupted profile

sniff around - C:\Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles

and delete any profiles. You'll loose any extensions or what not. If there isn't a Thunderbird folder, look under mozilla in the same directory.

if that doesn't work. delete all profiles, uninstall and reinstall.
